Basic profile details

Display name, follower counts, and bio — enough to confirm you have the correct account.

A profile can be public while a particular item remains unavailable because it was deleted, expired, restricted, or not returned by the provider.

What Cannot Be Done

Actions not supported by StoriesIG

StoriesIG cannot follow accounts, like or comment, publish content, open direct messages, manage an Instagram profile, bypass private settings, or guarantee access to all public media.

StoriesIG must never request an Instagram password, session cookie, or authentication code. If any page asks for these, do not provide them.

Browser-Based Access

The service works through a web browser, so no Instagram app installation is required. Use it on mobile or desktop with a current browser. Browser access is useful for public research or viewing, but it is not a replacement for the social and account-management features of Instagram itself.

Public Versus Private Profiles

A public profile makes selected content accessible to a broad audience, subject to platform controls. A private profile limits content to approved followers inside Instagram. StoriesIG respects that boundary and does not attempt to turn private content into public content.

Account not found after entering a username
Check the exact spelling. The username may have changed, or the account may be private, restricted, or temporarily unavailable.
Content loads on Instagram but not here
The provider may not have synchronised recently, or the item may have regional or age restrictions that apply externally.
Results appear with a Demo Mode label
Demo Mode shows synthetic data when the configured provider is unavailable. It is clearly labelled and not a real lookup. Retry later.
Rate-limit or too-many-requests error
Wait a few minutes and retry. Submitting repeated lookups quickly can trigger temporary rate limiting.
Page content not loading at all
Test on a different network or browser. Clear your cache if the problem persists. Check that JavaScript is enabled.

Retry later after verifying the account. Do not submit credentials to solve an availability problem.

Privacy

No Instagram login is collected, but the lookup still requires a request to StoriesIG's server and potentially its configured provider. Limited security logs and short-lived caching may be involved. The Privacy Policy describes the actual categories, purposes, and retention practices. StoriesIG does not promise that no data is processed — a server request necessarily involves some handling.

Do I need to register with StoriesIG?

Registration is not required for public content lookups. If you use the contact form, the information you submit is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

Can I view a private profile without an account?

No. Private profile content is restricted to approved followers inside Instagram. StoriesIG does not attempt to bypass that boundary, with or without an account.

Which public content types are supported?

Where the configured provider makes them available: active public Stories, saved public Highlights, public Reels, public posts, and a public profile picture. Each type has its own availability rules and provider dependencies.

Why is a public account not loading?

The account may have been renamed, made private, restricted, temporarily unavailable, or rate-limited by the provider. Verify the username and retry after a short interval.

Can I interact with a profile?

No. StoriesIG is a viewing utility, not an Instagram client. Following, liking, commenting, messaging, and posting are not available.

Can I use it on mobile and desktop?

Yes. StoriesIG works through a web browser on current mobile and desktop devices. No app installation is required.

Does StoriesIG request cookies from Instagram?

StoriesIG does not request your Instagram session cookies and must not ever ask you to provide them. The tool operates using public data access only.

Is account-free viewing unlimited?

No. Platform availability rules and responsible rate limits apply. Submitting a very large number of lookups in a short period may result in temporary restrictions.

Can I save public content?

A saving option is presented only when it is implemented and lawful. Saving a file does not transfer copyright. Creator rights remain intact regardless of public visibility.

Will the creator know I viewed content?

StoriesIG cannot promise invisibility. Behaviour depends on how the configured provider obtains public content. See the Privacy Policy for details on data processing.

Is this an official Instagram service?

No. StoriesIG is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instagram or Meta.

What if content is removed at the source?

If the creator or platform removes content, it may become unavailable through StoriesIG as well, either immediately or after the provider's next synchronisation.
