Copyright and Content Removal
For rights holders and authorised representatives.
How StoriesIG Works
StoriesIG is a browser-based viewer that retrieves publicly accessible content from Instagram profiles through a configured public-content provider. It does not host copies of Instagram media on its own servers beyond temporary short-lived caching, and it does not create or modify content.
Because content is sourced from Instagram's own infrastructure, a permanent removal of the content at the source — by the creator or by Instagram — will cause it to become unavailable through StoriesIG as well. If you are the account owner, removing or restricting the content at source is the most direct route.
Rights Holders: How to Submit a Removal Request
If you are a rights holder or an authorised representative and believe that content surfaced through StoriesIG infringes your copyright or other rights, use the contact form with the following information:
- 1
Choose the copyright or removal category in the contact form
This helps route your request to the right review queue with appropriate context.
- 2
Provide the StoriesIG URL where the content appears
Include the exact page URL so we can locate the specific result or lookup page.
- 3
Provide the source profile or media URL
Include the Instagram profile URL or the specific media URL that is the subject of the request.
- 4
Include evidence of ownership or authority
Provide sufficient information to establish that you are the rights holder or an authorised representative. Do not publish sensitive evidence in a public field.
- 5
Provide reliable contact information and the action requested
State clearly what you want done — for example, removal of a specific result or page. Include contact details so we can respond.
What We Will Do
Valid removal requests will be reviewed promptly. Where a request is actionable — that is, where the identified StoriesIG result can be suppressed — we will take appropriate steps. We will confirm the outcome to the contact address provided.
We cannot remove content from Instagram itself. For removal at the source, contact Instagram directly through their own reporting tools.
Private Accounts
StoriesIG only accesses publicly visible content. If your account is set to private, your content is not accessible through StoriesIG and no removal request is necessary. To restrict access, set your Instagram account to private in your Instagram settings.
Counter-Notices
If you believe a removal request targeting your content was submitted in error or without authority, you may submit a counter-notice through the contact form. Include a description of the content, a statement that you have a good-faith belief the removal was erroneous, and your contact details.
Misuse of the Process
Submitting a knowingly false removal request may have legal consequences. StoriesIG reserves the right to decline requests that are clearly frivolous or submitted in bad faith.
Contact
Use the contact form and select the copyright or removal category. Do not submit sensitive ownership evidence in public fields — describe what you have and we will provide a secure method if necessary.
