StoriesIG is a focused browser-based utility for looking up media that public Instagram profiles have made openly accessible. Its purpose is deliberately limited: help users reach supported public Stories, Highlights, Reels, posts, and profile pictures without asking them to sign into Instagram.

Public Content Only

Public-content-only is an operational rule, not a slogan. StoriesIG does not request Instagram passwords, authentication codes, or session cookies; does not bypass follower approval; and does not claim to reveal private profiles.

Some public content may still be unavailable because of expiration, deletion, regional or age restrictions, source-platform changes, or provider limitations. When a result cannot be returned, the tool says so honestly rather than showing fabricated data.

How the Architecture Works

The application uses a provider-based architecture. In plain language: the interface sends a validated public username request to a configured service that is authorised or otherwise suitable for retrieving public content. This separation lets the site improve or replace providers without redesigning the interface around an unreliable workaround.

If a production provider is unavailable, the site must say so honestly. Demonstration data is clearly labelled as such and is never presented as a live lookup result.

Privacy and Reliability

Accurate language matters. Hosting infrastructure may create security logs, requests may be briefly cached, and a provider may process the normalised username and limited technical information necessary to return a result.

StoriesIG minimises this processing, avoids sending searched usernames to analytics services, and protects configuration secrets. Actual retention practices are described in the Privacy Policy.

Responsible Access

Public visibility does not remove copyright or give visitors permission to impersonate a creator, republish media, or use it commercially. StoriesIG provides copyright and removal information for rights holders and prohibits abusive use in its Terms.

The tool is intended for legitimate purposes: journalism, research, brand monitoring, and browsing public content without being required to create an account.

StoriesIG is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instagram or Meta. "Instagram" is a trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc. StoriesIG makes no claim to that trademark or to any official relationship with Meta or its products.
